After babies grow out of their clothes parents are often left with multiple outfits that haven’t ever been worn. For those parents selling these items might be a priority. However, because they are new yet not exactly brand-new they might be a little more difficult to sell. Here are a few tips on how to sell new unused baby clothes.
Find a consignment shop. These stores will buy clothes that are in good condition to resell. Depending on the stores policy they may pay per brand name or they may pay depending on the condition of the clothing. Make sure you bring in the appropriate clothing for the time of year. Simply put, most stores won’t buy winter clothes in the summer. Stores can only sell clothes that customers are looking for. Before you bring in your clothes make sure they are clean and have all the buttons and ribbons attached properly.
- Sell them yourself. Garage sales and the Internet have made selling used items as easy as 1,2,3. Many parents cruise garage sales for inexpensive baby gear that they can barter for. The internet opens up to an entirely new market of people who might want what you have. Auction sites like eBay offer buyers to browse items via category and bid on them. Make sure if you are posting on an auction site or local classified site that you include pictures and a good description to insure that your items get sold. Also don’t forget to put your contact information on the page; otherwise you might not sell anything at all.
